Silva (born April 14, 1975 in Curitiba) - Br azilian mixed martial arts athlete. Shooto champion (2001), Cage Rage (2004-2008) and the UFC (since 2006) in the middle weight. M MA career began in Brazil in 2000, fighting in the local organiza tion of Mecca. He lost his debut fight with Luiz Azeredo by decision of judge, then won nine in a row, clashes (including six before time). One of the most important battles in the early career, Silva had an encounter with then-champion of Shooto, Hayato Sakuraim.
